Startup Deliva™ set out to disrupt the food delivery market in cities like New York but didn't quite know how. They knew that something was wrong with the food delivery platforms in the US and especially in New York as evidenced by both major Food delivery platforms in active law suites with the city. But could a fresh look at a new digital platform yield results?

Freshify focused on two critical pain points: restaurant profitability erosion from platform fees and a lack of tools and features for the delivery people so essential to the industry. By leveraging their knowledge of digital platforms, monetary models and the industry, the combined Deliva™ and Freshify teams built a platform that empowers restaurants, delivery partners (“Delivas”), and customers through a fee-free model and community-centric features.

Major platforms like DoorDash and Grubhub charge restaurants 15–30% per order, forcing most to raise menu prices or avoid the platform completely. Meanwhile, delivery drivers and restaurants lack tools to build direct customer loyalty, leaving them reliant on algorithms to build their business. So Freshify led the Platform Ideation phase aiming to:

And while selling items for the same pricing as in-store, they have the added abilities for collecting followers and loyal customers and the ability to market directly to them as well as issue special discounts and offers.
